There is so much good to say about this gorgeous James Bond-gets-married wedding at Canlis Restaurant.
First off, I love these people. I’ve done other weddings in the family, and knew that even though I was a month out from giving birth, I had to show up for these friends! They got ready at a family home and then had a candlelit dinner party with close family and friends at Canlis Restaurant. Talk about shaken not stirred vibes. Winter whites with deep greenery for florals, rich hues everywhere and LOTS of candlelight. It made the intimate dinner party atmosphere so romantic. When I walked into the room, I was like “Uh, did I just drop into Skyfall with a full Adele intro sequence? Yes, yes I did.” And, of course, every wedding gets to push me in different ways.
For Emma and Adam’s wedding, all the couple portraits happened after the ceremony…in the dark! Give the people what they want! I love a soft daylight photo session. However, my first goal is always to serve my clients. Even in non-ideal conditions (hello, zero daylight lol). My job is to accomplish your goals and wishes. For Adam, having a first look during the processional was one of the most important things. That’s why couple’s portraits got pushed to after, and…let me tell you, you’re in for a treat!
I busted out the flash and got to really amp up the old-world Hollywood glamour meets James Bond aesthetic. Peep the cake towards the end of the pictures—it’s a family recipe that has been in Emma’s family for generations! It’s a German cake, and I love these special details that make everyone’s wedding day unique to them. Plus, the fact that her mom made it was even more special. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that my sweet couple treated my second shooter and me to dinner in our own room (we were informed it’s where Russell Wilson has eaten!). These are the types of #workperks that I truly appreciate being a part of your vendor team.
