When planning a top-of-the-line nuptials, having a Fairmont Olympic Hotel Wedding is undeniably one of the best ways to go. When I met Dorine in a small wine cafe with her best friend, I knew I was in for a treat when it came to style and elegance. Dorine described how she and her fiancé Efrain, were going to plan their Persian-Columbian wedding for late November with TWO ceremonies included. Holy cannoli. This is going to be big…literally.
We would start their wedding day with getting ready images at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. Their amazing staff upgraded their bridal party to the Presidential Suite and it did not disappoint. With high ceilings, large windows, not to mention a baby grand piano, it was perfect. Given the gloominess of the Seattle skies that day, I wanted to use shadow and lack of light to elevate their images to mood of the day.
Opting to save their first look for the wedding aisle at St. James’ Cathedral, we headed out for our first ceremony of the day. Echoing chambers, etherial music, the setting felt sacred and hushed. Navigating the rules of the church, my second photographer and I captured the moment from multiple distanced angles. Not easy, but worth the effort.
Concluding the first ceremony, we stole away to the Frye Art Museum for some bride and groom portraits. Nothing more romantic that an empty museum and a set of newlyweds. Quickly we arrived back at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel for their Persian ceremony set just outside the Spanish Ballroom. Ah-maz-ing. The lighting team from Crimson Haze lit the ceremony site in the most magical arrangement. Sparkles everywhere.
After a beautiful traditional Persian ceremony, it was time to enjoy the party. The couple shared a gorgeous first dance, hilarious toasts, a jaw-dropping cake cut and a dance party for the record books. In conclusion, I want to thank Dorine and Efrain for trusting me with this incredible day. I believe we took over 8,000+ photos!
