Nina and Erik celebrated their wedding in two parts–an intimate ceremony at Bottlehouse. Then, a bigger reception two months later at Metropolist. Both days were filled with love and care from their close friends and family. As a Seattle wedding photographer, I’ve experienced wedding days overrun with activities. But, Nina and Erik took such care to give intentional moments to all their people. Not to mention, enjoy themselves along the way!
Intimate Wedding at Bottlehouse
Bottlehouse is a quaint wine bar and eatery in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood. As a central location for good wine, good food, and good vibes, it’s the sweetest spot to hold an intimate ceremony in Seattle. Nina and Erik had their small ceremony on the bistro’s back-covered patio. Their families were close by to witness the vows. There were not many dry faces in the house!
Grand Reception at Metropolist
Just down the road (and two months later), Nina and Erik gathered with a much larger group of family and friends to hold their reception at Metropolist, a wedding venue in Seattle’s Sodo district. Metropolist has all the cool warehouse vibes of many Sodo wedding venues. It is perfect for large groups and dancing the night away, precisely what Nina and Erik did!
Intentionality with Wedding Guests
What stood out to me on their intimate day and large wedding reception was how connected and intentional Nina and Erik were. Clearly, they were connected deeply with a large community of people that loved them. As I followed them around with my camera, they made sure to stop and speak to every person. Each connection had importance and I loved seeing the unique dynamic of each interaction. While Nina and Erik met in college, they bonded over both having lost a parent early in life, and it was this, among other milestones, bonded them in their shared commitment to cherishing relationships.
Everything about Nina and Erik’s wedding days, from the elopement-style ceremony at Bottlehouse to the large wedding reception at Metropolist, showcased their love of people and intentionality.
