Abeja Winery is one of those venues that feels less like a wedding venue and more like stepping into an entirely different pace of life for a weekend. Tucked into the rolling hills of Walla Walla wine country, the property blends historic farm buildings, vineyards, gardens, and beautifully restored guest cottages in a way that feels both elevated and deeply personal.

Originally a 1900s farmstead, the property has been thoughtfully restored over the years while still holding onto its original character and warmth. Between the vineyards, lavender fields, open lawns, and estate-style grounds, it’s the kind of place that naturally encourages people to slow down, settle in, and fully experience the weekend together.

For couples wanting a wedding that feels immersive, intentional, and centered around connection, Abeja is honestly one of the most special venues in Washington.

Weddings at ABEJA WINERY & INN

Abeja is one of my favorite venues for couples wanting to host a true multi-day experience for their guests.

Most weekends begin with a more relaxed welcome evening — often incorporating wine tastings, outdoor dinners, cocktails throughout the gardens, or intimate rehearsal dinners surrounded by the vineyards. Because so many guests stay on-site, the atmosphere feels incredibly connected from the very beginning of the weekend.

It shifts the energy away from feeling like a tightly packed event schedule and into something much more personal and immersive, which is honestly part of what makes weddings here feel so memorable.

Welcome Events at Alderbrook

Abeja is one of those venues where having an experienced planner becomes incredibly valuable, not because the property is difficult, but because there are simply so many moving pieces happening across the weekend.

Between guest accommodations, transportation, multiple event locations throughout the grounds, catering flow, rentals, timeline coordination, and managing a full weekend experience rather than just a wedding day, having someone overseeing the logistics allows everything to feel seamless for both you and your guests.

This is especially true for larger weddings or heavily designed events where the property is being fully utilized. When the right planner and vendor team are in place, the entire weekend feels effortless and relaxed — which is exactly how celebrations at Abeja are meant to feel.

Why Having a planner at aBEJA WINERY makes a difference

What I love most about photographing weddings at Abeja is how much variety exists within the property itself. Within just a short walk, you have vineyards, gardens, open fields, historic buildings, gravel pathways, and soft rolling light that changes beautifully throughout the day.

The venue also naturally encourages a slower pace, which creates space for moments to unfold without constantly feeling rushed from one thing to the next. From a photography perspective, that makes a huge difference. It allows me to focus not just on creating beautiful imagery, but on documenting the relationships, conversations, and quieter moments that end up meaning the most years later.

It’s the kind of place where a wedding gallery ends up feeling layered and deeply personal because the experience itself is.

YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE AT ABEJA

My top Recommended Planners for Alderbrook Resort & Spa

Inclusions at ABEJA WINERY

Wedding weekends at Abeja typically include:

  • Access to multiple event spaces throughout the property
  • Vineyard, garden, and lawn ceremony locations
  • Historic barns and outdoor reception spaces
  • Private on-site cottages and suites for overnight guests
  • Estate-style grounds for welcome events and rehearsal dinners
  • On-site winery and tasting experiences
  • Space for larger guest counts while still feeling intimate
  • Multiple days of property access, depending on the package selected

The property can accommodate weddings ranging from intimate gatherings to celebrations of around 150–300 guests depending on layout and event design.

Alderbrook is one of the few venues where the setting does more than just look beautiful—it shapes the entire experience. The pace softens, the moments linger a little longer, and the focus naturally returns to what matters most. When everything comes together here, it feels less like an event and more like something fully lived.

It's a vibe.

Starting between $10,000-12,000, this fee covers the cost of tables, chairs, standard linens, flatware, stemware, china, and event spaces for the rehearsal, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

My couples will typically spend between $12,000-$14,000 for a full weekend package that includes 10 hours of wedding day coverage, two photographers, rehearsal dinner, welcome party, film & digital imagery, aerial drone imagery, and their online gallery with all their best images to share with family and friends.

Late spring through early fall tends to be the most popular, especially for waterfront ceremonies and outdoor receptions. Summer offers the longest light, while early fall can bring a softer, more layered atmosphere with the surrounding trees.

My approach is to support both the structure of the day and the space within it. I’ll guide you when needed—especially with light, timing, and portraits—but I’m equally focused on allowing the experience to unfold naturally so your photos feel honest, not overly directed.

A blend of editorial and documentary photography works beautifully here. The setting naturally supports composed, intentional imagery, while the pace of the weekend allows for genuine, in-between moments to unfold without feeling rushed.

As soon as you have locked in your date at Alderbrook Resort and Spa, you should book your wedding photographer. You'll want to ensure you have first dibs on their preferred vendor list.
